“I’d dedicated myself to a professional football career from an early age until sadly injury meant I had to retire. Like Tom I enjoyed training and being in great condition and so it felt logical to use my knowledge and experience to help others.” Paul enjoys developing creative workouts and using short, intense circuits combining speed work, cardio and body weight exercises to burn fat and rapidly increase fitness levels. “The vision that Tom and I share is that we want to help people achieve a genuine transformation in their lives, I get a real kick out of seeing someone reach their goals and I love seeing the sparkle in their eye once they realise that they’ve made real progress. The buzz of helping our clients establish a healthy lifestyle for the rest of their life is why we come to work every day”
“My father was an amateur boxing trainer and so I grew up as a boxer, training regularly and competing all over the UK until an ear injury forced me to retire. I’d always enjoyed training and exercise and enjoyed being in good condition myself so training to become a personal trainer was a logical step”. Tom brings a flavour of his boxing expertise to the Ellis Stockwell training programmes, integrating pad work and weight training techniques for strength and conditioning. “I’ve been training people for 17 years, all ages, all levels of fitness and seeking a vast range of goals but the thing that never fails to excite me is when I see someone begin to tap into their own potential and find the energy and motivation to make a difference to their lives. As a coach I’m here to guide, support and encourage that but in truth the achievement is all theirs”
Marcus’s passions are boxing and strength & conditioning training. Both have led him to his life's work as a fitness coach. Having boxed at an amateur level and played football semi-professionally it was injury that led Marcus to focus on strength and conditioning training to aid his rehabilitation. From that point he hasn’t looked back and has now been working in the fitness industry for over 17 years. Marcus has a Bsc Bio Medical degree which allows him a greater knowledge and understanding of individual body types and how to prescribe exercise in accordance with their individual physiological needs. Marcus’s belief in the power of exercise has led him to work within the NHS with a wide variety of special populations, including helping clients who suffer with morbid obesity, hypertension, type 2 Diabetes, cerebral palsy and joint replacement to name a few. Marcus is currently studying to become a Feldenkrais practitioner to further aid his clients in their rehabilitation and help improve their posture, balance and coordination.
